Primrose Petal Birthday Goodness

Welcome to my new BLOG!!!

When I first looked at the Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog I immediately fell in love with the cake in the Just Married set. I thought some of the other images were cute but wasn't so sure that I would use them enough to justify (wink) purchasing the set. Well my dear friend Anne felt the same way about the cake and loved the some of the other images....so guess what we did...something I've never done before...we split the set!  Now we both have our favorites (and we live close enough to share if we need) Have any of you either done this or thought about it?
 Isn't this cake glorious?

I stamped it three times...in summer starfruit, raspberry ripple and primrose petals. I then cut out the various pink layers and glued them onto the summer starfruit image. I used the summer starfruit marker to fill in the polka dots on one layer....I love me some polka dots!

Of course I had to add a bit of bling and pizazz so I put pearls between the layers.

Do you ever have a card that just starts out so good but no matter what you try you can't figure out how to finish it? Well that's what happened here so I let it sit on the desk for a few days. I'm not sure what happens to my brain while I'm away but today it all worked out beautifully.

I made several banners from Summer Starfruit DSP, stamped Happy Birthday from Teeny Tiny Wishes and used a few punches to layer.

Here is the inside of the card. I apologize for the poor photography. This is the first time I've used the the labels framelets and I love 'em.

Thanks for stopping by!
Andrea

  1. Yes, that cake is gorgeous! I love the pearls--what a great idea for those strings that I always end up clipping apart!
